I would use whichever Asian piece fits the tv as a tv console. Then purchas or have custom built...two large column bookcases one on each side of the credenza...to reach to the soffit. Install glass shelves in the bookcases. Get rid of the cream sofa...I can't tell what is opposite it, but, it is white. It looks like you have too much large furniture all fighting to have their style be "the winner" and nothing meshes. Use the lower asian cabinet under the window...then a cluster of the traditional style chairs grouped for conversation. 2 and 2 facing each other perpendicular to the window. The small tables could be between the chairs. They could be very similar to the armchair that is in the picture, not matching...but the wood frames all the same color and the upholstery the same. Then repeat the upholstery in decorative pillows on the sofa. Using the armchairs in the traditional area, gives you lots of flexibility as you can easily move them over facing the sofa when you wish to create a larger conversational grouping, or facing the tv when there is something special you want to watch. Get rid of the curio cabinet and the round glass table as they are too much in contrast with the leather sofa. Paint the smaller tables in a bright color to add a pop of color...repeating the color in pillows on the sofa. (I see an orangey colored throw on the sofa...that would be a nice accent color) You could add lights in the bookcase columns for interest. Then, look for an unusual lamp or chandelier to hang in the corner behind the curve of the sofa. I would hang floor to ceiling draperies with the large grommets in the top to repeat the medalian on the asian pieces. Add a wide band of the accent color to the bottom of the draperies. Place 2 unique wall sconces on each side of the wall unit...something that draws the 2 styles together, maybe with hints of the accent color. A large piece of artwork, which includesvthe accent color, to be hung over the sofa. It would be fun to have a frame in an ornate traditional style, but painted to match the asian pieces. The wood is beautiful. To me, the wood has an oriental-Japanese-inspired vibe. This wall's paint is nice, if your can match. Here's a method of choosing wall paint: http://www.lindaholtinteriors.com/2011/07/testing-wall-color-101/ Can you keep just the curtain panels and remove the sheers? At a later time, a non-patterned curtain panel the color of wall. I saw the art and I think it is OK, but not for this room. Perhaps in a bedroom? I don't understand the theme you have going? Giraffes? Clocks? If you like clocks, remove the giraffes and buy something like a large round wrought iron "clock". Note also the rug, pillows & throw as inspiration for your room. Perhaps the TV console in a lighter tone wood like their end tables (your room = too much black).

The first thing that bothered me in this room is the distance between the seating area and the tv area and that both seem unrelated in everything. I think what you should do to pull everything together is the following: 1) Move that sectional away from the back wall and the curtains (placing couches against the wall is outdated now) and closer to the tv 2) Center the coffee table under the chandelier with the sectional placed 16 inches away from it 3) get a console table of a height equal to the sectional's back 4) place few decorative items, stacks of books, candles, lamp shades whatever you find suitable on the console 5) someone mentioned that the two accent chairs are not in scale with the room. I totally agree with that. You need wider chairs with a low back 6) A rug is a must and two are better than one, layered of course !! But make sure the biggest one is big enough to place all the seating on it. 7) pillows and a throw will add warmth and texture too...

Hi Rakhi , You can probably follow this : Furnishings : If you wish to retain the Sofa, you can highlight it with bright silk / cotton silk bright colored cushions and throws. Change the curtains to neutrals. Walls : You can also go neutral on the wall colors ( off whites , ivory , beige or light grey) This opens up your possibilities and choices with furnishings and other add - ons. If possible you can get the exposed brick wall done on of the walls ( the entrance console wall for example) and have lot of interesting frames on it ) Artwork / frames : You can add lots of art work frames ( on the sofa wall ) of various style and types ( like in the grey wall pic attached. ) You can even add sari frames like in the pics attached above. would specially advise to add artwork frames on the entrance wall to hide the MCP (electrical board) or even a nice mirror. Plants : Please add lot of greens , it really lights up the space like no other artificial prop can. You get lot of low maintenance indoor plants they brighten up the space. Please note : You should first choose whether you wish to go for a traditional look or a modern or even a blend of the the two and then choose artwork and furnishings accordingly.
