You can either plan for partial fix glass on the upper side or upside lifting aluminium window. Personally, I will opt for partial fix glass.

Or you can either utilise that space and make it as a breakfast counter along with some ling bar stools or an island counter

Inside Out Interiors,  I guess that's what the builder had planned for - a breakfast nook.

And the kitchen is already done. Personally, we don't like the view of the kitchen. But hit brain freeze on the ways to work around it. That's why trying to find interesting ways to hide the view when the guests are around .

If you're looking for a cheaper and more flexible option,dark royal color curtains/as suitable with rest of design with a stylish curtain rod can look good and hide your kitchen as well.

Sleek Flexible furniture that double up as breakfast tables can be paired there too. Decorating them sith vase/plants can give good look overall.

In case of traditional interiors , local wall hanging of the right size could work perfectly

We used a black reflective glass with a Victorian style frame to keep the access open and yet maintain privacy when required.

This is how the opening looks like now. (ignore the casual look of the pic please.)
