you may use asian paints apex ultima for paint as it long lasting and has good gloss.
Tiles- you can try for vitrified tile for interior and interlock tiles for exterior as they are cheap, long lasting and good looking.
you can install cement-pop board for interior dampness, it will cost a bit more than dr.fixit but it will have life of prob. 15 years.
Apart from paint and tiles what can be done for th makeover of this house
you may go for rustic texture paint for exterior.
