For the living room, the focus should be the balcony area. So flipping the couch to face the wall and not the dining table will help. Kind of like this pic. Even if you already have the sectional that is in the diagram, you should be able to flip it. In fact a sectional would probably work better than the couch in this pic. I also really don't like the style of this pic, but it showed what I meant, For the girls' room: No matter which bedroom you choose, you should maximize floor space so that they have the biggest play space possible in their room (as they get older you can add desks for school work and such). To get this space, I would give them bunk beds. This configuration gives them an open feel and more storage, essential for girls. You posted two different kitchen designs. This makes it hard to give you advice. I agree with other posts that your sink should be away from the wall. This allows you to have stuff to the left of you (drying dishes in my house), while you wash vegetables on the right of the sink. You need the same space on both sides of the stove, also. At least 24 inches on both sides is good. 36 is better, though. The first design has a nice little countertop space that adds a place for your daughters a space to sit a watch/ talk to you while you're in the kitchen. When they added this to the first design, you lost cabinets on the other wall. This is bad, as the space is already storage limited. Try making the rounded countertop bump out into the living space more. If you play with the shape, you could make it work without losing the cabinets on the other side. It doesn't have to be rectangular or a perfect circle. You can see how this one isn't confined to the floor plan of the kitchen. I think this is what you would need to do to make it the most functional.

I would go with the second plan, more or less. Having a fridge right next to the wall seems like a bad idea to me, and I personally can't stand ranges/cooktops on islands--I like the hood venting straight outside. But I would want more countertop to the left of the fridge--when I take food out of the fridge I would want to plop it right onto the counter, and it looks like there's not enough room as it is.

plan seems to be ok vastu wise. (assuming north -south axis is diagonal and not aligned to the axis of the house) regarding son's bedroom 1 - try making the washroom more square towards the left exterior wall and the box room in front of it. Best to keep wet areas together, i.e. wc, shower and tub in one zone and dry area i.e. the basin in one zone. Also you could change the orientation of the bed as there is no privacy in the current layout. Maybe same as guest room's bed orientation. Another option would be to to re orient the door. the dining area also should have some window opening. The master bedroom, in spite of being of good size, has hardly any wardrobe space. The space before the 2 pillars could be used for wardrobes with some rework on the walls and door alignment. I feel the whole plan needs some re working to take out the best use of the space. If you are a vastu believer, don't make the pooja on the west wall. Pooja should be on east or north wall of the house. Don't cut your store room as you definitely need one , rather shift it on the extreme upper side of the master bedroom. Don't provide an extra door in the bedroom for the safety point of view. As I said, by giving store room space on the upper side you get the symmetry instead of the protruded wall at the entrance of the master bedroom. Bed heard board is the best in South, then East, then West. So go for first two if possible. For further queries, you,re most welcome.
