Plywood 18mm thick edge banding

Hi,
Many of the interior designers are providing 16mm ply with machine edge banding for better finish and smooth edge. Can same type of machine finish be done with 18mm plywood? If so, why most of them use 16mm

It is quite feasible to edge band on 19 mm plywood.

Yes, there are machine restrictions for some, many can do 19. 16 is cheaper!
