Our house was built 16 years before without pilar support. Am planning to renovate the house and want to take rooms in 1st floor. Please advise me how to proceed further
You should get a structural engineer on board. Usually you can build another level but you should be aware of the load bearing walls etc. Best is to either get an architect or a structural engineer to evaluate.
A evaluation of the structural integrity of the structure is needed before proceeding with the construction Typically if you have 9" walls throught the base and follow the same layout of the walls on the first floor, you should be able to add rooms as per your requirement. There are also ways in which you can add a framed structure to your existing ground floor, so as to have the freedom to redesign and renovate the entire house as per modern concepts
Yogesh you can make sure walls above 9 inch walls ,try to use lightweight materials , very, like AAC blocks, filler slab. Explore them, for any other guidance reach to me at 9844703104
