I've been designing with shipping containers since 2004. There are a lot of possibilities with this type of construction method. Shipping containers are durable, and provide all the structure you need. There are some modifications that need to be done once you cut openings and a foundation under them is a good idea for longevity. Depending on your location, there may be some hurdles to get over in regards to permitting with your municipality. In the United States, most will require that the plans are completed by an architect and a structural engineer licensed in your state. OK Vivek, that was a suggestion, it is manageable but please take your call. However, this 2 nd floor plan may need a discussion. Ideally, a kitchen meant for a studio and a 4 .5 bedroom house should not be of the same size. You may want to increase the size of kitchen looking at the size of 2nd and 3rd floor layouts. Yep, I agree it's nowhere near Scandinavian. Although I tried hard to emulate it with the resources I had and conflicts with other family members, but oh well. But I'm trying to emulate the Scandinavian theme at least in the paint job. Do you think if I somehow achieved it at least in paint job it won't look good? I really like the color scheme of Scandinavian design. Edit: I really like the minimalism and coziness scandinavian design provies. Although, I do have to mention that I didn't mean to say that the photos that I've posted are necessarily scandinavian. I was just talking about the colors especially the white color.

I just saw your post and came up with one option. we cannot ignore the fact kitchen is less spacious so inside kitchen maki bar not possible but yes we can create bar counter between dining and kitchen lets see how remove wall portion to make it huge window if you want give it a shape or simple square will work for you. don't create too heavy structure simple counter top of Granite would work add some lighting to it and hanging bar accessories easily available in market.
