Black wrought iron from the top of the glass "fence" to the ceiling of the balcony would be pretty. The contractor will know how far apart to install the WI for safety. I wouldn't have any fancy WI design, just plain. The WI could also be installed horizontally. Extending the glass would be pretty, too! If the area was fully enclosed you could keep the french doors open more often and incorporate this balcony area into your living space year round. Also it would keep out dust and wind and rain & would be easier to keep clean, maybe there could be a vent for fresh air when the weather was nice. Could you talk to someone who has enclosed their balcony for more information? Depending on the sun exposure, you might need screening, too. The furniture & colors should harmonize with your living room. Ask your family what they might use the balcony for. If to sit and enjoy the view and plants, you will want one type of furnishing and if to eat on the balcony you'll need a table and chairs, too. Hi Nithin, Thank you for your reply. installing the POP curling would mean I will loose the existing shape yeah? little worried that I would loose height in the room. The structure used to be a window which I broke down to make way to a balcony. In a few days the structure will be replaced with sliding glass doors. Any recommendations on color as well? thanks again.

Thanks Cornerstone. I was actually looking forward for your response as you guys are quite regular on the discussions. Coming back, the kitchen adjoining the open to sky area is actually being used as a storeroom. For your reply 1) As I mentioned the existing drawing room serves dual purpose of living and drawing which becomes very messy and nigh impossible to keep clean for suprise visitors. also coz of the open area , the rooms are prone to mosquitoes and flies. Coming back to my question I would like to know budget friendly solution for covering the open area. ( I did consider opting for a skylight but the cost was off the charts) 2) Wardrobe and door Now that the drawing will be freed up, I don't see any use of the wardrobe in the new plan. I don't have any clarity of ideas for the rear dining area as to how deal with the very dark wardrobe( which I'm open to remodel it for another purpose) and the door that leads to the open area. 4) Thanks for the advise on the L shape sofa but my concern remains on the no. of seats would not be sufficient. Also would the L shape look better on the long wall or the wall with the passage door. 6) One more thing that bothers me is the yellow check pattern on the floor.
