Hi---I suggest finding a fun, colorful palette-for boys and girls, (I like orange and turquoise together). Select furnishings that have tone on tone color, patterns, and lots of texture. Keep bedding neutral and identical but add something such as a butterfly or doll on the bed for your daughter and an animal or monster on your son's bed. Walls : You can go neutral on the wall colors ( off whites , ivory , beige or light grey) This opens up your possibilities and choices with furnishings and other add - on If possible you can get the exposed brick wall done on of the walls ( the entrance console wall for example) and have lot of interesting frames on it ) Artwork / frames : You can add lots of art work frames ( on the sofa wall ) of various style and types. Plants : Please add lot of greens , it really lights up the space like no other artificial prop can. You get lot of low maintenance indoor plants they brighten up the space. Please note : You should first choose whether you wish to go for a traditional look or a modern or even a blend of the the two and then choose artwork and furnishings accordingly.
