I once had some commercial equipment removed from a cafeteria. After seeing the 1/4-3/8 inch thick grease buildup on the sides of the fryer, my appetite for fried foods disappeared for a time. We actually started by scraping with a 2 inch putty knife. Then, we tried everything we could find. For places you could cover, we sprayed with oven cleaner and covered with plastic which was the method used for the company's candy production equipment. They sprayed everything on Friday night and let it sit for the weekend and cleaned it on Monday. The best product I have ever found was "grease control" from the Odo-ban company which is actually an emulsifier so much more green than the toxic chemicals found in some of the cleaners.

Since the lot you describe is smaller than my open living area, I would suggest looking at some of the "shotgun" house plans around New Orleans,LA. I think you can build up and back and get an interesting home with a loft for space. It can be done, A porch with an entry to a narrow hall at the back might work best for you. Will you plan a courtyard (closed)? or what? What part of the country are you in? What are your local codes?

Hi Smita, A wall can add a lot of character to an existing space if treated wisely. - Even if its a small wall, a pop of colour can really liven it up. A collage of your favourite posters/ family photographs/ tribal masks/ wall sculptures can always add character and interest. These accents serve as good conversation starters as well. - A wallpaper is always an option when you want to add a bit of drama to the room. Couple it up with a large mirror and a couple of beautiful bracket lights to liven it up. - A wall mural adds an artistic touch to the wall. You could try getting it done by local artists or for a simpler option opt for decals. - A textured wall with a nice artwork or a painting can never go wrong if used wisely. Hi Rohit. Two materials need to be considered for wardrobes - 1. Carcass and 2. Finish. Wardrobes do well with Plywood. Shutters are best done in HDF or high quality MDF as they take finishes much better. Depending on the colours, style and concept for the room room aesthetic, you could potentially choose from a plethora of finishing materials out there. If you prefer a wood look and have the budget for it, Veneers in all kinds of designs are available. If you are looking for something extremely durable which is also cost effective then laminates (HPL) are your friends. Back painted glass looks gorgeous on a sliding wardrobe but it is the most expensive of all commonly available options. Some unsolicited advise - Avoid lofts above sliding wardrobes. Hope this helps!
