This my bedroom plus gaming area, need suggestions to how to make it more appealing and soothing. It's pretty blend now. Things I can't change is the position of the existing furnitures.
Too many colours- green on the walls, ochre on the drapes, white and pink on the bed. Too much shiny laminate in wood tones. and the showcase concept with sliding shutters is very old fashioned. Let's say you like Pink as seen in the bed sheet. You could try changing the wall colour to a peach or pink and match it in a darker hue on the curtains. Let the curtain length touch the window sill. To break the monotony and to give yourself a little freedonw in the bed linen you could use stripe or checked curtains as shown here.
And can you replace the storage sliding shutters with long sleek hinged white ones? You don't have to put everything you own on display, just leave a few sections open to show only the few things you reeally love.
@GJ Studio : yeaah I am pretty bored with the old sliding shutters, but the issue the shelves r cemented with the wall ( pre provisoned) so can u suggest how to break the old looks of the shelves considering the shelves are cemented.
Also regarding the color of the walls I wanna have something which is soothing to eyes and not flashy also does not make the gaming set up out of the blue. I can change the bed sheet , curtain color and curtain length accordingly as well.
if you're changing the shutters to opaque hinged ones, it really doesn't matter that you have concrete shelves inside. you will see those shelves only when you open the shutters. and even those shelves can be disguised in a single colour- grey, white or wood tones - instead of emphasising them with borders. you will probably have to make an outer frame first which will be fixed onto these shelves, but the shutters will cover them. Don't use purple on the walls!
