In our experience, four posters can elevate any design as long as you are mindful of its look and feel. While traditional poster beds with a thick, pillared frame can make the room look cramped, a modern single or twin bed with a simple frame and canopy can feel spacious. String lights or sheer curtains on the frame instead of heavy drapes also lends the room an airy feel.

As professional interior decorators in Chennai, we also recommend opting for bed with a neutral or soft pastel hue such as white, cool grey, powdered blue or teal.

Hi Team vibrant, thanks for the detailed answer. Here is my room's picture. The textured wall is where the bed would be placed with the wardrobe to its left. So there would be 8 ft left for the bed. I am guessing a bed would be around 5+ feet in width.

Now with the dimensions described above do you think posters and the curtains would be ok. Would they not choke the room's left out space ?

My idea is to keep the room airy and spacious. please suggest the decor for it.

Please share the floor plan . We need to understand why were the cabinets not made on the 10 ft walls.

And assume that we need to place a queen bed here?

Hi Nitin, the walls on which the wardrobe is actually 10ft but it is +2ft deep hence occupies additional 2ft on the adjacent wall thereby reducing the effective width of the wall against which we will place the bed.

Good thing is that the longer wall is still free. Technically, you can get a poster bed in the space. Get a light colored one preferably.

That golden color wallpaper isn't looking great IMHO.

Sorry for our delayed response. Considering the layout and measurements of the room, a poster board is not a practical choice anymore, unless you can place the bed on the wall with the balcony. Even then, we'd only recommend a small-sized bed that's more suited for kids rather than adults. Otherwise, you'd have room that looks cramped and has very little space to properly use the wardrobe.

@Vibrant The wardrobe has sliding doors so that won't be a problem. I am thinking of getting a small bed enough for 2 adults and would be 6*6 and would give me around 2feet gap near the wardrobe.

Or doing you think I should go with floor bedding ?
