Kitchen needs a good work triangle with fridge close to the sink for ease of offloading and preparing refrigerated food items. I would use the longer wall on the right for upper and lower cabinet installation and the stove with nice surface areas right and left of the stove for setting down hot pots, etc. Could tap into the bath plumbing to add a pot filler at the stove. Put the fridge on the wall with the sink. Add a small table or rolling cart to the store room/pantry for setting down grocery bags to unload them. Leave the short wall empty, and you may have room for an island. Is that a breakfast area at the end of the kitchen? It could be part of the island. Are you going to use the dining space? Is that a fireplace just around the corner from the entry? Will you have a TV? Are those your 5 loveseats in the living room, or do you have other furniture to work with? Need more info and photos of any furniture you have that needs to be incorporated. Comment here and attach more pix.

I would say definitely teak for outdoors in the tropical climate. Wicker would be fine if it's in a covered area. Here is an article about different woods for tropical climates. Thanks. Somehow I did not have luck finding good carpenters, Here is how I wanted the drawers to look. Here is how carpenter from my locality (not too cheap a neighborhood, called Lokhandwala) tried to make, A you can see, he tried to chisel the wood to get this design. Obviously had no clue. Finally he gave up, Brought the unfinished desk in with an excuse to show me how it is coming along, left it with me and never showed his face again. So I tried an expensive carpenter, who did some work at an apartment on NapeanSea Road, a very expensive locality and paid him what he wanted. He too did not know how to make this. All he did was out a moulding in the center to make it look .as though it were similar to what I wanted. At least his work was clean, except that he represented that the top was teakwood while I lter found out that it is mango wood, but he too did not know how to get this done. I hope one of you can suggest a carpenter with some skill.
