Can you clarify. What do you mean by 'false ceiling, with down lights'? Take one down or put it up? Same with the rest of your list. The pictures are clear enough to be able to determine what you've got going on. Clarify what you need help on and post more pictures so we can see the entire kitchen.

The second one. I agree with ZEALART, the image is lost against the background of the first one. The second one is a beautiful compliment to the image for its colour, texture and composition.

Hello there, You could start with concealing the concrete niche as it is with prelam boards and laminated plywood on the sides only. This will preserve the slabs as well.
