You could also bring in some texture with bamboo sticks or decorative branches and help balance a bit the height of your room with small scale furniture. Hi Rose. So sorry to have been absent for so long -- I lost internet connection for a solid week. Tore all my hair out, and now this bald lady is saying that the angel above would make a good fifth element, I think, if it's the right size (not too big). It you are considering purchase, try to borrow it first to see. Otherwise, put something in roughly the same size and shape -- scrumpled up paper can work -- in that position. Trust your eye as you did so well with the start of the vignette. I would prefer your original arrangement, with that, to the the second arrangement, in which I think the white is too stark, and the colour too bright. You want a feeling of age and patina, which is what you have in the first arrangement. Also, in the second arrangement, the clock and the couple are overwhelmed by the bright white. My thought about the lace runner is not unconnected with Decoenthusiaste's comment above. I don't think your items are too feminine, but perhaps underscale. But adding a large item won't help; a runner could, by enlarging the footprint (base area).

Thank you. Point noted. I will remember that while we choose our decor so that i mix and match a little to break the monotony of the theme. I forgot to mention- there is one other reason why we settled for the no-false ceiling decision. I love the height of the ceiling and the ample natural light in the room. We did not want to cut off few inches by adding a false ceiling. We might add a portion of wooden ceiling perhaps if we feel that might be good, in future. But as of now is there no other option to make the room look complete, without the false ceiling I mean? Perhaps solid or textured paints-light reflecting colors on the ceiling or something like that... and getting back to the topic of false ceiling, are there options that can be added without reducing the height of the room? Because the two options that the designers gave me are wooden panels or POP wherein close to 1/2 feet is lost totally.
