I had storage under my stairs in our previous home and am having it done again. I loved it. I put seasonal things such as candles, wreaths etc., that I could not put in the attic in there. I had considered making shelves/built-ins in the hallway under the stairs but I decided I would rather just have storage. It is also a great place to store the vacuum cleaner. Mine is open all the way under the stairs, the framer was going to wall it off and make it like a coat closet but I felt like that was wasting space. IMO it's great.

You may have to ask from few of your chosen architects. 2- Creativeness: If anyone has taken up a project they are expected to be putting in their professional creativeness. 3- Fees: Really varies a lot approx 50-500 per sqft. There are few students and part timers who would do a project for lesser.It's better you engage in a discussion with few architects and ask for their prices rather than guessing. 4- Iterations : Yes and No, usually designers will keep in mind a few iterations before providing an estimate. But if the numbers of iterations are way too many they may have to discuss the fee again with you. 5- Precautions: Do not consider an Architect /Designer fee as a one time fee only. They provide a service that stays with you and family for a life time. A small mistake in the plan will stay with the home for ages. Be as transparent as possible. Don't fall for online marketing gimmicks. Anyone who is cheap is for a reason. Word of mouth or personal recommendations are a good way to select any service provider. Be thoroughly prepared with what you need in terms of layout . See around, take pictures of what you like and present it to them in your discussions. Get involved - but that doesn't mean that you should interfere too much with their expertise. Its a creative art and any professional worth his salt should do a better job if they are given creative freedom . 6- If your entire focus is on the price you will push the professional to look in the project as cost project rather than a design project. Instead of iron grill and glass behind it, you can use FRP grill and glass. You will get a much better design and look in FRP compared to conventional iron grill. We did FRP for one of our project and below is the pic. Please do contact us if you need help with this and other interiors.

I have the same kind of bathroom and saw the same video. I used an angle grinder to remove one of the walls. You have to have hearing, breathing, and eye protection. I don't think there is any way to avoid the dust. I'm going to direct a fan to an open window in the bathroom. My sinks are top mount so there was no problem removing it. I replaced the faucet only for now. I also changed out the drain and stopper. The old one was rusted to the sink. I had to bang on it with my loader from my tractor with the sink upside down to get it off, lol. I have put off removing the rest of the wall and the cabinet because it is such an ordeal. You might check with Daltile to see if they still make the tile. Maybe try cutting away the cabinet while keeping the counterop supported and then dropping it so that the joint gets more exposed? I'll be interested to know if you get to this before me but I'm doing an entire gut job.
