roof shingle color
We have a split foyer home, with rusty red brick, rust-colored shutters and doors and bright white siding. We are trying to choose the best roof color. Got it narrowed down to CertainTeed Landmark Driftwood or Colonial Slate. The gray of Colonial Slate is very typical and safe, but it leaves me cold. Driftwood is warmer, but has a lot of variation in the color, which makes me wonder if it will be too busy with the horizontal lines of the siding and the brickwork. Any thoughts?

5 years agoI really like the Colonial Slate. This house has bricks that are close to the red of your's with a bit more variation.
Certainteed Grand Manor · More InfoI would remove the shutters and paint the sidelights white. I would paint the garage doors the same color as your siding. I would remove the bushes hiding the lower level windows. and plant others in between the windows. I think you probably could use an ornamental tree out in your yard to frame the house.

Comments (2)If you could post pictures that would help, also make sure of your building's codes/rules, keep in mind weight, drainage, exposure (sun/wind/light), privacy concerns, lighting, etc. and consider getting professional design help for someone who specializes in roof gardens. As you know homes are compact in London and with the gloomy weather almost year round, developers tend to go for the standard magnolia for the walls and white for the ceiling for maximum light refection, at the same time give a warm atmosphere during night with warm white lights complementing the magnolia walls. can you actually post pictures of the colors you're considering? have no idea which company or roof you're going with.
I've seen the other one (i'm looking at similar tiles for my own) and feel the variegated colors are too busy.
but, if keeping your red/white, this red terra Oxford shingle choice would look great
