first of all, Thank you guys for those valuable inputs. yes, as far as cleaning goes, its just been finished installing and I have asked them to clean them up. And also, I observed that the frosting on the glass didn't look that good, so I am going for the filming on certain portions of the doors n windows. - Is there a particular quality of films that I may choose for this ? - Yes, lighting is definitely the criteria I had in mind which can bring up the finish to this. And i am worried about this , as I did not go for False Roofing, bcos the ceiling is already at a low height. I should really refine my ideas on the lighting part. - the stairs are floored with white Marble stone..My mom loves it and the matting on it might hinder its beauty, but yes I will surely consider that as well. Hi Anu, You did a nice job with designing balcony. If you like plants, then you can grow herbs, flowers, vegetables, it will give your balcony a cozy look and cool feel in this hot summer. You can have bookshelf if you are a reader. From the images it can be seen that balcony length is more, so you can develop a corner for your hobbies or whatever that is you like to do in free time. This is a fabulous room. It oozes a bygone charm that you would lose by adding false ceilings and tube lights. Please don't! Go all out to preserve this magnificent floor and the beautiful furniture. That mirror is superb, as is the old painting. Keep the wall colour as is and change the upholstery after polishing and keeping the beautiful wooden furniture. The upholstery is mismatchedat present. But the different styled armchairs look very comfortable. Keep them. No modern furniture will give you such comfort. When you re upholster, refrain from choosing firm foam and such nonsense. It is far better to have good quality down or cotton, which moulds to the body shape. Invest in a high quality traditional patterned Persian or Kashmiri carpet for a restrained stroke of colour. Your upholstery should pick up colours from this carpet. So should the curtains. Please never even consider vinyl blinds, horizontal and vertical. If you tamper with this room and remodel it to be 'modern'- you will lose a treasure.

give me some time I have an idea to do for these pillars after application of the film... I will surely post it.... What I plan to do is have three long glass vases with translucent pebbles in it which will look good even when the light is off ... Also the vases will contain nice decorative small leaves metallic flowers ...i am not able to find these tall vases at least 35 cm tall (total height of one box is 74 cm) searching for them... any inputs ?
