Hello. Am constructing a new house and it's architecture is more vernacular Indian. I have wall in the living room which is wire cut brick. The foyer, living and dining is one contiguous space. Would jaisalmer look better or kota in that space? please suggest between the two options
Jaisalmer is a beautiful flooring. Its not too yellow. More of an ochre/amber colour. Looks rich and warm and doesn't have the cold impersonal appearance of white marble. It is also dark veined, so it is a very personal choice. The larger the slabs, the better for you. I've used 4'-0" x 5'-0". Even 3'-0" x 4'-0" is okay. But it is very important to get references for proper stone layers and polish guys from the supplier. You can really get stuck if you don't get the right people. And yes, it would look stunning with red open brick walls and traditional furniture
Jaisalmer will look great, this is a natural stone so it tends to get stained, to avoid this you will need to do high gloss machine polish for this. you can also add white marble patti in between jaisalmer tiles. Attaching a picture for reference
That one looks more brown than yellow. the one I saw was yellow. was not sure of so much yellow in the living dining foyer. would it bother over time and would it be better to go for something more neutral coloured like kota?
if its a big space and open and spacious then the yellow color of jaisalmer stone wont bother much, if its small space then it will stand out. In the picture, its yellow jaisalmer in matt -anti skid finish.
