Hello there. Bathroom is completely gutted and I have no idea yet of what kinds of tiles to buy/ how to design it.
I love the look of hexagonal tiles, husband wants ikea floating cabinet in the color shown in pics.
This is the bathroom my daughters will use. There are only 5 and 2 but currently fighting over who uses the sink first. Previous cabinet measured 49 inches- decisions... buy the ikea cabinet shown in pics- 48 inches or the 39 inch version that also allows for the double sink. I’ve been told to choose the smaller one since the extra space in the bathroom will make it look bigger. I’m having a hard time picturing it all coming together.
We want to keep the color light but at the same time make it fun for the girls. We were thinking about subway tiles for tub. What kind of tile/ backsplash should I use for the vanity?
Also is there a specific guideline in terms of the bathtub niche- height, width, etc?

2 girls will never be in that bathroom at the same time in another year so I would not do 2 sinks in a 48” vanity . Counter space is a much better use of that size vanity. I would do the 48” one or better yet the 55” but get your own counter I use the Godmorgon a lot in my design work the storage is great .You do not post measurements with the drawing so difficult to get a feel for the space . If you are planning a tub/ shower at the end then I would do a 32 x 60 tub / shower with a shower screen and no curtain to keep the space feeling open .

Plan for a large recessed medicine cabinet if you can; that will help with storage immensely.

Hi Medina2013,

I would advise the largest vanity possible while leaving at least 30-32 for the tub and again 30-34 for the toilet. 2 sinks are great but a cabinet without a sink allows for way more storage.

White subway is a great look for kids but I like to dress it up with a bright niche or wall color or some fun accent pieces. For your niche usually framing is going to dictate somewhat where it can go. For a tub I prefer a low and a high for ease of use showering or bathing.
