Hi , i want to lay wooden flooring with AC5 grade for my bedrooms, is it suggestable for indian homes? what are the pros and cons of laying wooden flooring ?

u can also check vitrified tiles with wood en look, if possible

Hi, Though there are plenty of goodness of wooden floor you also need to take care of pets, dust, mishandling, frequent polishing due to high traffic. I am not considering cost part as you already decided to go for it. If use properly it's a great option. Good luck. Regards

Just a little ceramic information to share as a potter. Vitrified simply means the clay has become glass like by being fired to its proper maturing temperature. Usually ceramic tile means it is a lower temperature clay like earthenware or terra cotta. Porcelain is fired to the highest temperature and is more vitrified if you will. This usually means it is less porous to to absorb water and harder. Low fired ceramics with glazes much darker or lighter than the clay body will show chips easier. Rectified has to do with making the edges precise enough to fit smoothly together for less grout lines. So porcelain cost more to produce but it is more sturdy. All clay tiles should be vitrified.

Hello, I feel that you can design this bedroom by having 1 opaque wall at the back, and 3 transparent walls using glass & steel or glass & wooden french doors. The walls should be white, with minimal accents of blue or green, use 2 layers of curtains with sheer, and brass hanging lamps. All doors can be white PU paint. Waterproofing this bedroom will be essential, so make sure you have sealed all joints and surfaces, with a minimum of 2 feet roof overhangs. Hope this helps! G

Hello April, It's an old wood floor and each slab of wood accepts the stains differently so getting exact match is very difficult. Sanding, staining and repolishing the existing flooring to match the new floor is a likely solution to your dilemma. Its a messy and time taking procedure though. AC grading is done for vinyl and laminates. What you are going to use is a close replica of wood floors. AC 5 laminate floors are durable enough for regular day to day usage. Pros and cons are many but most important ones are they are cheap, durable and resist day to day scratches, wear and tear. They are very easy to clean.

Cons are they are not as visually appealing as wooden floors and can not be easily repaired. Planks can be replaced but they will appear different than neighboring ones.

Hello there,

When you consider laminate wood flooring (AC5) be sure to choose the right brands for color fastness and uniform bevels . Usually Squarefoot and Pergo are being stocked by local dealers.

As far wooden floorings are concerned, it is best to avoid in hot and humid zones . You could also consider wooden textured tiles for a similar look.

On the brighter side, they impart an elegant look and is quite easy to clean and resist daily wear and tear. However, heavy things could scratch the floor when moving around like a sofa or fridge.
