From your idea book, I see you like very modern houses. Is this going to be built in India? I found a one floor layout that might work for you and you could do the exterior to your taste. But I have to say, you should look for professional help in India. I imangine code requirements and material are much different there. Search the internet for modern and contemporay house plans. However, there does need to be someone locally to help with the building and zoning codes and coordinating with the permitting agencies. . Also, it would be best to have local engineers to help with the project...... For example: You will need a soils report by a geological engineer to understand what the foundation needs to be based on the existing soils conditions. A civil engineer to help design the grading so that the property drains properly. A structural engineer to design the structure for the local codes. A good contractor to build the project who will coordinate and be a good team player... Let us know what you would like from us........

When you use the term "Duplex", you mean that it is a two story house, correct ? In the USA, the term "Duplex" means two separate living units side by side......but in other parts of the world it means a two story residence. Please clarily that you are talking about a two story single familly house...... If so, the footprint that your house will have on the ground floor will be approximately 1000 square feet. Do you need to park a car on the site or is parking offsite? If the parking is offsite, then you have lots of room for a two story, 1800 plus square foot house. The design will be dependent on your personal criteria, and it would be helpful if you could hire a local architect to help you with the layout of the rooms. It should be relatively simple once all of the factors are considered.

@Dar - We hired a builder and he gave us this blueprint according to our requirements. We started constructing with the foundation and then after foundation the real problem came into picture. Now i'm worried about the front elevation only. We have already decided to make the kitchen open n combine it with dining hall. As per your suggestions we can combine the stair hall which is in our hands. Let me tell you the most important thing, we are constructing each and every room according to "Vastu Shastra". So we are forced to place rooms according to that. We can't change the position of the rooms. I hope interior decoration will help us to flourish our home.
