Need help for my living room
Comments (10)Hi shampadhar. I look forward to a pic, but generally, yes: it could look odd to have the headboard appreciably higher than the footboard. Despite any other changes, it will look like a bed in the living room. HOWEVER: part of cottage style is relaxed eclecticism, so this may not be a problem and possibly quite charming. The solution will be in placement and styling. If the bed is placed against a wall, position the footboard end nearest the corner. Use a relatively substantial table in the corner at the footboard end of the bed with lighting, accessories, etc., creating a "sofa" feel. No table at the other end, with maybe a pendant or small chandelier suspended over the headboard end. This asymmetry will provide casual and effective light for reading and other activities and support the relaxed vibe that says "cottage style". Use a variety of throw pillows, also more heavily concentrated on the footboard end and arranged largest to smallest along the footboard and down about 3/4 the length of the wall. This will reverse the perceived visual weight of the bed from the headboard to the footboard and help to offset the disparity between the different heights. Consider only a lovely bolster at the headboard end. I really do love to use pieces out of context when this makes sense. If you love the wood, leave it alone and simply dress the bed differently, as described above. It is an interesting way to give this favored piece a new context and a new life, and a cottage is the setting wherein this is most likely to be successful. Post pics, please. I would love to see what you come up with. Have fun with it and good luck!...See MoreSuggestion for this Kid's Room?
Comments (0)I'm trying to renovate this room for my 8 years old son. It's complete redo. Since I live in a relatively small apartment, I need some amount of storage, hence the need for the overhead loft storage above the wardrobe. I need help for considering following aspects: 1) I'm thinking of allowing some amount of shutter-less storage in the wardrobe .. just to make it feel a little lighter 2) What are your views about overhead storage. Me and my wife are split for this. She says it could make the room entrance feel like a cave. 3) I'm thinking of replacing the cabinet next to the bed (Under the beam) with the mini-study table arrangement which is existing on the opposite side 4) The column behind the headboard is really a design nightmare. I'm just not able to get how to integrate a child-friendly way. In India, it's pretty common to follow vaastu science for placement of objects and sleeping position. It's been recommended by a vaastu expert to retain this sleeping position. Thanks in advance...See MoreMaster bedroom arrangement.
Comments (27)Refer the sketch plan for details Its very simple and interesting, BED SIZE 6'6"x 5' queen size, with small 1'6"x1'6" size tables , keep the bed aligned to the door as shown in yellow dotted line, make sure the bed have round edges, as its a small room you might hit your leg while walking across. do a wardrobe in front full size 2' wide, or option 2 do wardrobe and a study at window side, about now about the aesthetics decor the wall behind the bed have a cushion head board at back side of bed. KEEP AC ON THE toilet wall itself its good to root the copper pipe to the service duct where you'll have your outdoor unit....See More11x10 bedroom design
Comments (12)My humble opinion is one needs space in the bedroom to walk around, dress or for yoga, stretching, etc. But this is just my opinion, not imposing it. I have a similar size bedroom and am struggling with space, there is a big wardrobe occupying 48x24 space on the floor and a mini Godrej Almirah, which I cannot get rid off for sentimental reasons(!). Plus I have a small readymade computer table. My bed is twin single beds put together and is 60"x72". Space is a big problem, so I liked your Layout 1. Would you consider the TV to be mounted in the bottom right corner? Is it a large screen TV?...See Morepc designs
