I'd go for make it white; then right there, flop one nice little white overstuffed loveseat or something that fit, or one big whopping chair, and fit in a tiny table and light; treat that corner as it's very own micro-retreat, and the seating is to not face out into the room. Like little lounge spots put under stairs, make this one dedicated to the view; and make it minimal. Decorate the rest of the room as if the column and retreat bit isn't there.

HI RinaI do agree I love jewelbox rooms, but I consider them more cosy ... and with a grey marble floor it goes all Versace Italianate! I am trying to balance the colours by bringing in a pattern on the covers rather than plain. I feel this will bring colour without overpowering the room. In the pictures I showed above, the rooms are basically neutral but the colour is brought in via pattern - I think this might be the way to go...Ideally a green or blue on a subdued grey would be the best, but I dont know what the market is like for Sumit...Cushions can do a lot to tie in the other white/grey elements.Shelley - navy is a good suggestion, but as Sumits area is quite tall and thin, trying to keep the general area light Any more suggestions most welcome. These are just ideas after all and Sumit will choose what works for the room in the end ;-)

Hello, Your Drawing Room needs more colour other than the white of the wall and brown tones of the furniture. This addition of colour can be done by adding the some printed cushions on all the seating. Slip a huge traditional print area rug that will at-least have all the front legs of the furniture on it. Addition of some huge traditional paintings / Wall art / Murals, etc on wall matching the ethnic style of the room. Style your center table & side table with some curios like brass accessories, coffee table books, candles, succulents, etc. Increase the lighting of the room. Can highlight a wall with a wallpaper/ texture wall/ textured paint. Green is good for the eyes! Add some house plants wherever you can. Hello Abdul, the room is looking quite warm right now. You might want to think about bringing in some blue or green either on the wall or on the rug to balance it out and make it more harmonious. I would suggest a subtle texture paint with a greyish-blue hue instead of the beige(light pink) wall. If not you could also think about hanging a nice painting with such hues. And to compliment it would suggest a rope-weave rug, or a furry rug along the same bluish theme for two reasons, one it will bring some softness and some warmth (texture wise) to that cold flooring. and two, the furniture is all mostly straight lines, so it may loosen it up a bit. If possible I would suggest a green succulent on the coffee table to bring in some life and tie the whole look together.
