Need help to organize my TV and music system and curio wall.
Comments (25)You have all the reasons to redo the house, its very lifeless and looks worn out. I feel creating a separation will terminate the spaciousness of the room. Adding colours will surely help, Since you have a tan color sofa,I suggest grey, white or light blue color on one of the walls. Add some art works of the color you chose for the wall. This room needs some fillers like , books, throws, candle stands tall and lean. YES DON FORGET 1. Mount the tv on the wall make some space on the floor and Fix a large size mirror ( Wooden Frame if you can afford)....See MoreWant some suggestions about furniture rearrangement in my living room.
Comments (29)You have very high walls so I would do a tall wainscot on the walls to create some warmth and decoration at the same time. Take everything off the walls and remove all the small little shelfs and decorations, leave only the big furniture. Then start over with the wall decor. Need some bold statements to create some balance and interest but not clutter. Add some larger shelves if you need shelves, something hefty and interesting. It's hard to see wall color and how it works with the upholstery. Do you need all that furniture in the space? I would thin it out. Remove one of the sofas and place the chairs across from the other one. Open up the space in front of the window. Add a sofa table behind a sofa along the wall and decorate it with a couple large vintage style lamps with some accent color (pull a color from the rug that you like) on each end and tablescape the middle of the table. Add a huge mirror above Bring that same accent color into the space with some bookshelf decor but not cluttery. I am not a fan of the drapes; something more neutral in a grommet panel style that can easily be opened. Hang them at the ceiling. They will look really nice because they create nice gentle folds if the fabric is a bit heavy for weight. Comments (23)I think this piece is quite lovely. It appears that your couch and chairs have dark wood so I would be tempted to stain or paint the buffet to match these items. Changing the large modern handles to smaller antique ones might help to make it less bulky looking and tie in with the other items in your room.. I like the idea of putting a mirror in the upper door, however much as I like the criss cross effect in the sample pictures, adding more detail may conflict with the curves in your sofa and chairs. You could look for a decorative detail that has more subtle style. As for placement, it might go on the short wall where you have a bench or even on the wall where you have your table with two chairs, one on each side to balance the look....See MoreNeed help on bedroom
Comments (24)Keya, glad you decided to take the one reader's idea about moving the armoires in front of windows that you don't need and giving the bed a wall of its own! And, yes, you can have Roman shades on one wall and layered drapes on the other. When I had drapes made for my tall sitting room windows/doors, I had them use the same fabric for the Roman shades for the smaller windows on the other wall. For me personally, in these older Indian homes with all the odd nooks and niches in the walls, perhaps it would be more soothing to have a light/med tone paint on the walls that blends with the drapes/blinds for an 'uninterrupted' look, and I would use the same color on ceiling and beams. (but that is just my thought) I would start the process with a large carpet with your favorite colors, then choose your Bedcover & cushions, then your wall paint and fabric for drapes/blinds ..Not certain what style you like, but if you really like a particular Ethnic bedcover fabric, you can always have them stitched into curtains or Roman shades too. Can't wait to see the "After" pics!...See MoreHU-794863640
