Not from this photo cause there's no reason to assume it needs accenting -- is the kitchen in yet? If the toilet ever shows with door partly open, etc... I wouldn't do anything to highlight that area! Not saying the ceiling - but it can look good in a soft color, etc...

I would prefer natural stone cladding instead of exposed brick decor. This is simply because natural stone cladding can provide a classy and elegant appeal to the home. Also, it is easy to maintain and lasts long. Another reason I would prefer stone cladding is that it provides a modern touch to the interiors. I would also prefer patterned tiles or textured walls over exposed brick as I feel that it makes a space look more lively and beautiful.

Ka_kamakshy interior architect , Did you check with your contractor why he thinks it will fall down. May be he hasn't done it earlier or he doesnt want to do it. It is very much feasible to clad the walls with marble/granite/ other finishes.
