rate is very reasonable. Not sure why you would need thermacol. hope they are proposing to use a reputable manufacturer, example, saint gobian gyproc sheets and channels. Btw good choice with plain design, no nonsense and clutter free.

Not a big fan of false ceilings either. I am going for this purely for insulation purposes. The searing heat of hyderabad summers renders the long living space unusable. The vendor tells me thermocol filling will take care of this. Googled for this and learnt that the temp drop can be upto 5 degs.

Exposed concrete painted dark is totally my thing but the ceiling is plastered anyways...

Does saint gobain do the channels as well?

Any tips for me to supervise this and ensure the guy is doing a quality job?

Yes they do the channels as well. I am not sure about thermacol being effective but glad to be corrected. I would stop the heat at the source, mostly from the roof. Either install a truss roof above or install white broken ceramic tile finish to existing roof. Solar panels are an option too. All expensive solutions but would yield guaranteed results.
