is Stainless Steel better option than iron for entrance gate

this is entrance of a commercial building with residence on top floors. is it advisable to use Stainless Steel for outdoor or go with iron gates or something other metal would be much more appropriate.

    stainless steel would also rust over a long time. Use galvanised steel for longevity.

      304 is std grade ss. you need 316 in case you are keen on ss. Beware some merchants sell off 304 claiming to be 316.

      its nothing 316 grade in india and 304 is equaly good

      Stainless Steel 304 Grade is the most suitable for your application as i have checked your site picture, if you use Glossy finish then there is no chance to get rust and will have a life of 7 to 10 years minimum, but also keep in mind do not attach the gate with Iron Knails or any Iron fitting as in contact with iron the stainless steel will aslo catch rust.

      Every material has it's required maintenance schedule. One needs to find out what it is and do timely maintenance. That said Stainless Steel looks very tacky.

      Opening looks too small for main entrance. Leave aside commercial it's even small for residential.

      Is it the main entrance. Or additional entrance in case of overcrowding for members of the building only?

      Iron Gates provides a heavy look. If the property is not modern then its a good option.

      IMHO, one should decide this based on the overall facade of the house and not just for one section.
