Comments (6)My office is slightly smaller 12x20. I have 4 cans on a grid in the four corners (roughly 30" out from the wall). With a desk lamp - I have plenty of light. Thinking about a ceiling fan and bed lamps. You should have way more light than you need for a bedroom. If possible switch the 2 cans along the wall (which are your pathway to the bath) on a separate switch and 3 way them to your bed and next to the bath. It sounds like the can above the bath door will work for the outside door as well. You can add a light to reach in closets ((We do a flat strip light mounted inside, over the closet door). Most fans have a handheld remote control. You can 3 way the 2 lights on the opposite wall to the door and bedside as well. With 9 ft ceilings- you won't have enough light for reading, but the table laps or wall mounted lamps will be useful there....See MoreNeed Help for designing my House!!
Comments (9)Depending on the budget, you could hack a portion of the wall "closed welcome passage" and put up a wall horizontally by the main entrance (creating a passage way to the living area. The window there should be able to shine a bit of light into the house. Replacing the wall between the living area and garage with Large glass panels would also help brighten up the house. At the same time, will give your house the elite concept (of having a vehicle in the living area) http://homememo.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/kop-properties_sky-garage.jpeg Hope this helps. :)...See Morei need help for my formal living and unformal living and dinning
Comments (300)I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer....See MoreI want a door there (red rectangle area)
Comments (36)How do you decorate your place, what kind of style, colors, and feelings? That will greatly influence the type of door you might want. Also, think of your budget, and whether you want to install it yourself or hire a professional (you don't need to tell us, just keep that in mind). Then look around Houzz, in the products page, they have lots of interior sliding doors and hinged ones, from elegant frosted glass in a dark wood frame, to rustic reclaimed wood planks. You may not want to purchase that exact model, but it might give you a better idea of what would fulfill your airflow needs without sacrificing style....See More- 7 years ago
