Floating stair treads - interior- hard maple vs. white oak - Canada

Hello - we have engineered hardwood floors (Mirage, maple) Would like to replace our stair treads. Should we use hard maple lumber, white oak or pine lumber please. Stairs will be stained.

What would be priced better? Would you buy in US or Canada, lumber will need to be shipped regardless. Current treads and look to accomplish. Thank you for your input.

Use the same wood species as the rest of the flooring and stained the same color as Patricia said

Agreed, stair and floors the same colors, are you looking to put stainless steel on for rails? That could add that accent color if you are looking for that style!
