If you plan to give the pooja area in the corner that you have marked above it will be facing south, which is not suggested as per vastu shastra. For any pooja area, the idol or photograph should not face the south. Instead, you may shift the refrigerator in the kitchen and move the storage/console/crockery unit closer to the kitchen door. This will create an area in the corner where you may provide the pooja room (as marked with the green outline).

Hi Sandeep,

Although this is appropriate as far as the direction is concerned, the space is too cramped. We are guessing it must not be more than 2- 2.5 feet. Also it will come in way of the dining table and chairs. Its best to keep it away so that the movement around the table is smooth and hassle free.

If you provide it on the wall as proposed by us, it will not come in way of anything and you will have sufficient space to perform pooja as well as to dine.
