sitting room within master bedroom
Comments (20)like so (sorry took liberty with your pic using paintbrush app). in second tv be installed on an island of a solid wall, remaining wall be of glass: use frosted tempered glass for doors n all.. this way you get another expanse of wall to do loads with n utilize full potential (area) of room.. also providing a wall surface on the back of the tv 'island' wall to the sitting area for say a painting, maybe? plus tehre won't be glare on the tv screen either if it's on teh wall-glass partition.. only issue being the slightly longer approach (i-e through dressing room) to bathroom area, which ain't so bad either.. in ur original plan i don't like how a door is sprouting out in the middle of a great expanse of wall... what a waste.....See MoreMaster bedroom arrangement.
Comments (27)Refer the sketch plan for details Its very simple and interesting, BED SIZE 6'6"x 5' queen size, with small 1'6"x1'6" size tables , keep the bed aligned to the door as shown in yellow dotted line, make sure the bed have round edges, as its a small room you might hit your leg while walking across. do a wardrobe in front full size 2' wide, or option 2 do wardrobe and a study at window side, about now about the aesthetics decor the wall behind the bed have a cushion head board at back side of bed. KEEP AC ON THE toilet wall itself its good to root the copper pipe to the service duct where you'll have your outdoor unit....See Moreraised bed or loft bed for master bedroom
Comments (2)Hi Ashwini, A loft bed in the master bedroom is a good idea when - 1] Your kids are too young (4-10 years) 2] The room has a high ceiling 3] The room is big in size (at least 12' x 15') If all these conditions are met with, you may go for a design like this - In the above picture, the fan is at a reasonable distance from the loft bed. The beds do not eat away the bedroom space. Also later on when the kid's grow up, this space may either be dismantled completely or closed from the front to act as a storage space. On the other hand, kids tend to grow up fast and their needs change accordingly. Hence, investing in a permanent arrangement such as a loft bed might not be such a good idea. Options such as a sofa cum bed might be helpful in such situations - It is extremely functional and useful. 1] Your kids can use it for as long as they want 2] It can be easily shifted to other rooms 3] It can also work as an extra bed in the future (when your kids grow up and there are guests at home) As far as our opinion is concerned, a separate room for the kids is always a better idea - 1] They learn to live independently 2] You maintain your privacy as well as theirs 3] A separate room means more space and less clutter 4] Both the rooms can be designed as per the specific needs of you and your kids to result in better functioning spaces rather than just piling on and cramping one Hope these ideas help you with your design. Comments (7)Hello Anamika. I would still suggest to not change the existing plan for practicality reasons. The only change that I want to suggest is to have that unit (besides the bathroom door, is that a dresser or workstation?) to move it adjacent to the TV unit (towards the entry door). However, if you do not like the existing pattern and want to change it - you could move the wardrobes to the North wall and place the bed on the West wall as suggested earlier and to address your concern of the narrow look, do one of the below: We could do a better space planning by doing some offbeat designing. If you need a workstation, you could make use of the headboard to double up as a desk (sample pic below) - meaning your bed along with the headboard would be moved towards East by about 3 feet. If you are one who wishes to have a space for your books, you could use the West wall to have a mini library too. If you elevate the work desk and library space by a single step, it would stand out and will give a special look to your bedroom. Another option is to have two single seaters with a round center table in between. You could also have a bedroom bench which can store your knickknacks. Sample pic shown below.
