In the empty space between the cabinets you can have such floating shelves to place books or any display items. You can buy them online o even get them made at any carpentry shop. You could have white to keep the uniformity or blue as a contrast to the white cabinets and matching the blue skirting and table top and the wall too. As a DIY you could instead make a french memo board in a a kickass grey or beige and keep your memos, notes, photos and everything else. Hang your earphones and cables from it, keep your guitar plectrums etc. You will find lots of DIY tutorials for this. This could go well in the space between the cabinets as well and gel with the study area.

You could head to Ikea if you're lucky enough to have one near you. Their Billy bookcases with the added height pieces are wonderful and are available in a black/brown color.

Yes, moving the bed under the picture wall would be good, and provide space for a chair and ottoman as you mentioned. And i have actually put a new set to curtains today which is a slight brown colored one. And I was thinking about painting the walls with the picture and the one with cupboards in a dark red shade and the adjacent walls something between off white to cream color. I plan to change the floor tiling too, but not at the moment. I've been thinking of making it a wooden flooring. But not sure what color to use.

Hi Anamika, I have the following suggestions: Change your curtains. You can order some beautiful curtain sets from "Yellow dwelling" according to your budget. IMO, the red oxide is a beautiful traditional floor which has a nostalgia factor as these are extremely rare these days. You can dress up your floor with a nice kilim rug/carpet. But for that you'll have to check some options online as they're a bit pricey Also, TBH your room needs a major decluttering process as that's the cheapest way to give your room a "makeover". Change your bedcovers too. Get rid of those tacky stickers from your furniture. Order some classy table lamps or floor lamps from IKEA (budget friendly) and you're good to go. Not sure if applying a fresh coat of paint would be within your budget but that would work wonders for this room. Hope this helps. Cheers! A
