how is the butcher block adhered to island ?

Looking to do something similar on top of quartz counter top. How can the wood be secured like in this image above?

Hi - the breakfast bar overlaps the base units and is fixed from underside, the quartz top butts up to the rear of the breakfast bar - hope this helps!
