how to design my new flat
Comments (1)Please consider this reorganization of the spaces which makes the most off the area available. The dining area is moved from the dark interior to share the same area as the living room, across from the open kitchen counter which would serve as a buffet. The black volumes are false columns faced in stone or marble or any other material of your choosing to give the space some girth. This distribution of the spaces gains you a walking closet for the master bedroom. Its ultimate effectiveness depends on your needs. I hope this is somewhat useful....See Moreflat design
Comments (4)Design of any house or building depends on different factors: Sun path at that location, which affects ambient daylight - What moods would you like in that room? Would you not like to place you walls/windows/chajjas/fins to design your mood using that sun-path? Would you not like to keep away the summer sun and let inside the winter morning sun-rays? Natural Wind direction at site; like pt 1 - would you not like the natural wind to work for you? Available Structural opportunities - in your case if it's an apartment in an already constructed building, how do we use existing column-beams efficiently? Or if it's a building, are there any soft spots which may be risky for placing columns? What's nearby? What privacy levels would you like in what space? You would certainly not like your bedroom voices to be heard from the corridor outside, and you would need good light in both the bedroom as well as the corridor. How do you that? It is this reason that there cannot be a standard plan for any and every site, and why a Bachelor's of Architecture happens to be a 5 year course. Ideally, it is the duty of an Architect to consider all the above factors while suggesting a design. Over time, different architects develop their own style, which becomes the identity of the house/building to be handed down over generations....See MoreThis is my home design layout My home layout
Comments (19)Basically what i can understand now is priority is given only for vastu and other aspects of the design has been forgotten. My opinion would be redesigning the spaces along with vastu integration . A single idea of modification would not be feasible here. Please consider setbacks and other utility areas needed outside the residence as well ,for services integration. Thanks...See MoreAddition of a wash area in a flat.
