I'm in need of an entry way table but cant decide between a rectangular one against the wall or a round one?

I have been super busy the past couple days so sorry I've been slow to get you some additional inputs. As I looked through the previous suggestions, and at more ideas, I found myself wishing I knew more about the other rooms near the entry and what style and look the furnishings have or you wish for. However, in answer to your basic question about a table, round or rectangular, I can't tell for sure, but I don't think you have enough room for a round table. A round table requires a certain amount of "space" to give it breathing room and to get the most out of it. However, here are some other ideas. I think this is a fairly small space, so I would be minimalistic in furnishing it I believe. I think it would look even more beautiful against the backdrop of the staircase and the crystal chandelier.

There are lots of nice cordless lamps. What if you take the picture to a store that just sells lighting, and see if they have something similar in their catalogs? It would be expensive but maybe worth it if you love having them be the first thing you see when you come in the door.

Why not paint it in a pastel colour? Add a carved chest that doubles up as shoe rack and organiser to store your shoes below and hold keys and bills in top drawers. You could hang a painting or a statement mirror above the chest and highlight with wall sconces or beautiful table lamps to shine a soft light around it.

Hi Gayatri, I would be great if you could give us details of your entryway as to whether it is in an apartment scheme or an individual bungalow or a veranda or a lobby etc. Also, the kind of aesthetics you are wanting to achieve - is your style Indian, colonial, Mediterranean, eclectic or contemporary? That way we can guide you elaborately. Some pictures would be helpful too. Still, here are a few decor elements which may come handy - 1] Plants 2] Sculptures 3] Waterbody 4] Seating 5] Brass ware like samais and ghaghars 6] Console Tables and mirrors 7] Wallpapers 8] Murals 9] Lighting Fixtures All of the above, whether used as a combination or individually, really elevate the space and make it bright and interesting. Depends on what look you want to go with, round pedestal creates a more open space, no functional use other than decorative. A 3 Drawer Chest offers functional storage & is a decorative statement.

I don't really need any storage so that's not an issue. but I definitly prefer the more traditional/rustic look. something like this, but a bit more classy or something

Rectangular against the wall with the outlet would allow you to more easily capitalize on the wall space and what appears to be a lovely ceiling height. Assuming that wall is also what is directly in front of you upon entering, it would create a nice focal point.

Another suggestion would be to do a smaller version in scale on bottom left and to the right mimic two small benches and round table to the side wall in rustic furnishings.
