You have all the reasons to redo the house, its very lifeless and looks worn out. I feel creating a separation will terminate the spaciousness of the room. Adding colours will surely help, Since you have a tan color sofa,I suggest grey, white or light blue color on one of the walls. Add some art works of the color you chose for the wall. This room needs some fillers like , books, throws, candle stands tall and lean. YES DON FORGET 1. Mount the tv on the wall make some space on the floor and Fix a large size mirror ( Wooden Frame if you can afford).

thanks all for replies. I want to highlight the wall as rest walls are almost white and need some change. there are white tiles on the floor, red sofa set and mostly brown furniture. I have planned to give a grey texture on the front wall (hoping it will look nice with red sofa). the wall beneath the light( in the photo) will continue to be white. though I would like to highlight it in some way as I have kept a box console in the photo above which a round mirror will be hanged. pls suggest

do the blue on only one wall,contrast it with white ....use blue hardware and small motif prints

Theja , You may not need any treatment here. After your curtains come in there will be hardly any wall left. Instead you can do a panelling on the opening on the wall between red and yellow spaces. Thanks, Nitin Cornerstone Designs, Bangalore
