HI RinaI do agree I love jewelbox rooms, but I consider them more cosy ... and with a grey marble floor it goes all Versace Italianate! I am trying to balance the colours by bringing in a pattern on the covers rather than plain. I feel this will bring colour without overpowering the room. In the pictures I showed above, the rooms are basically neutral but the colour is brought in via pattern - I think this might be the way to go...Ideally a green or blue on a subdued grey would be the best, but I dont know what the market is like for Sumit...Cushions can do a lot to tie in the other white/grey elements.Shelley - navy is a good suggestion, but as Sumits area is quite tall and thin, trying to keep the general area light Any more suggestions most welcome. These are just ideas after all and Sumit will choose what works for the room in the end ;-)

You can go for hard natural flooring for your common areas like hall, dining and stairs. For the rooms its up to your budget. There're so many choices like wooden flooring, Vitrified tiles. Marble flooring. For the bathroom you must go for anti skid floors which have there own specifications. For bathroom wall tiles market is full of choices .You can select as per your choice. About the colors in different areas, you should choose light and bright colors for your common areas. For the rooms, you can definitely play with different colors depending upon the who is accommodating the room and the interior theme. You can use wall papers and decals to highlight one of the wall in all the rooms.

Hello. As you rightly mentioned, there are lots of varieties of tiles available in the market today, including the wooden pattern ones. These designs are offered by almost all the leading tile companies. Well, the patterns/designs are usually on individual's preference, but a natural teak wood pattern would give a natural look as you requested. More than the designs of the tiles, the points that I would suggest to take care of before choosing a pattern is 1. It should not be too dark as it will make the room look smaller 2. It can have a decent amount of texture finish, but shouldn't be over board as it will be a hindrance to walk freely and also cleaning would be a pain. 3 The thickness of the tile, many good companies be of standard quality 4. Easy availability of the tile, in case you have to replace the broken tiles, they should be easily available. About matching the floor with your walls and ceiling, do not replicate what is on the floor (color/pattern), instead go for something lighter in shades (wallpapers or paints) for walls and for ceiling you can consider the wooden theme PVC panels, which are available in multiple colors.
