Rubberwood for panels

Hi,
is rubber wood a good material for panels of cupboards? Does it last well compared to laminate and MDF?

Thanks

    Hello Shilpi,

If durability is your criteria this would be the order BWP Board > Rubberwood > MDF.

When you say laminates we are assuming you mean laminate on top of board/plywood,

    Thanks,

yes, I meant mica over ply.
    What is BWP?
Do I need special care for rubber wood? Why has it gone out of use now, though MDF and ply both are in vogue?

Boiling Water Proof. For doors always use boards instead of ply.

It is bcause the availability and ease of working with ply/board/mdf is greater.

    Thanks,

Thanks again. What's the difference between board and ply? I thought both were same.

No Maam, they are completely different things. Ply is multiple sheets joined together and board is long blocks of wood joined together.

Therefore more suited for non load bearing applications like shutters.

How do they compare in price? Do Greenply etc make board or ply?
