Interior Colours for 1959 Original House (Very Retro)

Seeking advice on interior colours for my 1959 house.
Kitchen will stay the same I think (egg-shell blue walls above the cream tiles and bottom cupboards, and the light green higher cupboards). Lounge room and dining room walls and ceilings really need brightening
up. The walls look a lighter in the photos (they're a bit too creamy and drab in
reality). I'm thinking white would really lighten these rooms. Original everything so I'd welcome some ideas on 1950's colours. Thanks heaps!

I love your home!!!! So fantastic. Retro Renovation is a great blog to check out. Also Secret Design Studio on Facebook. I have done my kitchen in a 50's theme if you want to check out my profile I have it on there.i painted my kitchen a teal blue (Dulux Tapioca - Half strength) I am also going to lighten my walls that are in my lounge and hallway a to Antique White USA. Try and keep your beautiful timber features.
