Comments (6)Hi Joyce...what u pointed out is true..thanks! One of the minor changes I'm making is to give another door /opening from the kitchen into the passage just outside the family room area so that the family needn't visit the dining area to access the family living space....regarding the laundry..its a regional thing..in India, the laundry is usually handled by the lady of the house and the maids! The other members of the family would place their soiled stuff in a wicker basket in their individual rooms and every day these would be collected, sorted & laundered by the mom/maid!...See MoreSuggestions to better plan dining and family lounge area.
Comments (10)SJ , With due respect to your personal choices, for a family of 6 this is certainly looking over the top. I would suggest you to cut down the TV units to 2 or 3. You may not need 25 seats for a closely knit family it looks like we are trying to create silos in the home where everyone just sticks to their rooms, with separate baths, accent chairs, study and TV units. I would recommend you to convert the NE bedroom's bath as a common one with entrance from living. You can then do away with powder room. SE bath has a wardrobe inside the bath, I wonder why would you need that. It may not be a ideal placement. Comments (6)Thanks for your response and putting a stamp to what we thought. yeah thats the whole idea. We want to merge the utility with kitchen by removing the wall on the right of the utility door and also remove the door. We will keep the sink in the utility behind the wall on the left of the door. This will conceal the sink area from drawing room. Do you think its a good idea and will make the whole look of the house grandeur. We have also removed the wash basin from dining area and planning to remove the small extension wall between kitchen and wash basin in dining area. This will make the drawing room look bigger and more natural light coming into the kitchen from balcony side....See MoreCathy Phillips & Co
