Need help in designing living-room

The entry to our apartment is directly into the living area which is quite big. I was thinking to put some small divider(3-4 ft) at the entrance to make foyer. Please suggest if that would look fine and what kind of divider can be used - glass, wood, etc.

So sorry.....I see the dimensions on your floor plan now....oops. It was middle of night here. You have a great place with lots of options. I will try to find a picture for you, but here is what I would try. TV on left wall. Put it on a console table 20" to 30" high, or wall mounted with a wall mounted console below. TV should not be too high or too low for viewing pleasure. The main walkway to the balcony will be on left side in front of TV. To see how the arrangement feels, Try your sofa on the right wall facing the TV. Then put one of the chairs in front of the sofa with its back to the glass and the other opposite of it with the back to your entry. If you feel this arrangement is too far from the TV, a sofa table can be used behind the sofa to move the whole seating arrangement forward. Then if this feels good, you can add a rug. The rug should be at least big enough that the front feet of the furniture can rest on it. You will then need tables on the sides of your sofa. You have the choice of a coffee table or what is called "cocktail ottoman" which you can put a tray for drinks and food on, but still put your feet up. That is always nice when watching TV. If you like this arrangement and go to buy new furniture pieces,get the chairs on each side of the sofa that swivel so the person can watch TV easily. You need to think a lot about what colors you will use in this houses if any rooms are done, take some cues there. It's a big decision that will influence every purchase. Find a 3 color combo that appeals to you. Again look on Houzz at the living room pictures. Post some here that you like.

Hi Abhilashaa, Thanks for your reply. I have already provided the picture of the entry area and the living room. Size of the entry door is little over 4.5ft wide and the wall adjacent to it is about 15 ft long.

What are those red curved lines? The measurement is also not clear. What i understood with this is that , You should have two different rooms - one is formal drawing room with only sitting area and for that you need not provide a partition as it should look grand from your entryway and second one should be the living room. There you must give a partition between both the rooms so that the person sitting in the drawing room cannot peek in the living room and it'll be kind of privacy as other area will also be not directly visible . By giving a partition you are messing up the passage way more.

Thanks Rupal. Those red curved lines are just indicating some electrical stuff. You can ignore that. There is only one formal drawing room or living room which is shown in figure. the other side of the long wall is kitchen and the room behind the TV unit in living area is a bedroom.

Actually measurements are not clear in this drawing. Can you please attach any of the drawing with proper dimensions. As per the given dimensions the living room is rectangle in shape having lots of doors and needs space for circulation, the partition you wish is not giving good vibe to the space. it would be more effective if you will provide more pictures of your apartment so that the advice will be more precise.May be something more better and beautifu be planned after whole picture.
