7 years agoI would consider keeping the rug neutral and then accent the space with more dramatic accessories. The African, kuba cloth style in this pic goes well with both the tan, brown, grey colours you have.

Comments (10)Hello Monika, I must say that concrete wall is fantastic! I see a large planter with a large leaved plant there.. I like Jonathan's idea, off white or shades of cream for the remaining walls and ceiling or even a subtle stone colour.. Then we need to talk textures! I think the sofa could work if you move it out a bit from the wall and layer it up with throws and add a couple of lovely cushions.. Warm woods would be nice too to balance the room.. Have you considered adding concrete to other areas of the home? There are some fantastic concrete chairs available both as a chair and bar stool.. Could be fabulous to compliment this room.. Cox and Cox did some pendant lights that were concrete with a warm edge detail.. You could create your own arrangement with a 5 wire ceiling rose and hooks.. A glass topped coffee table could be nice too.. Have a look at eBay or vintage shops.. Oh and one more thing... You can if you like the concrete wall find wallpaper for another room say that resembles what you have in the living room or even marble! Comments (15)Hi Maam/Sir, I would recommend you to share a better perspective pic of your room where the ceiling is also visible because if a room does not have enough of natural lighting then some artificial effect like a false ceiling treatment would really give a great boost to the look and feel of your space. I would also suggest you to follow a concept like i can see there are a lot of varied colorscheme happening in your room so changing a curtain will not be much help. You should find the right patterns maybe like adding some pastels or i can see that some red or maroon color is involved in your room so try to match the lighter version of these elements. 7 years agoElainesteinke-I love the first rug you posted, and also the last inspiration photo. I am trying for a clean, light look and I always lean towards "beach-y" accessories. I am nervous about how my sand colored sofa would look on a solid grey rug? Would a large striped rug look okay?

7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoI would recommend a large rug that has a bit of sand and coffee in it to tie the furniture together. A refined pattern would be nice ... take a look at Restoration Hardware's Gala rug in white/natural. With the color of the couches spreading across the floor, the wood tones that flank the seating area will pull together, making the room feel more cohesive. The Gala rug in white/natural will also work well with your curtains and, from what I can tell from your pictures, it will look great with your wall color (request a sample). I'd also hang the painting on the wall and put some alabaster accessories on the mantle, clearing the bottom of the painting. When I say large rug, I mean large! Have it extend a couple inches beyond the back of the couch, and 2-3" from the hearth.
