Hi I'm looking for a solution to close a 9.6ft opening which connects the living room to the foyer. One idea we have is a sliding door which is about 6ft wide and have a 3.5ft fixed panel on the right side of the array) see floor plan. Anyone have ideas for how to plan for a door of this sort? And deign ideas for this door? I don't want to close off the view entirely. Ideally looking to mix wood, glass and paper cutout sandwiched between the glass.. The flooring will be white marble like tile (1m x 1m). Thanks!

I agree when you say sliding doors are difficult to maintain, especially when it comes to cleaning the tracks of the door. At first you may make the effort, but later you will so regret it. Hinged doors are easier to maintain. They are a blessing!
