Look for inspiration pictures and create an idea book, then use what you like to help you choose rugs, drapes and bedding before choosing the paint colour. Do you have any existing art that you want to use? That could give you clues for fabric colours and style. I wouldn't use the same colour scheme for the two bedrooms, exactly, although I might try to make them look similar by using some colours in common and keeping them in the same style. On the other hand, if you have a child who has strong ideas I'd say let him or her have considerable say in the matter for that bedroom (just this side of reason)....See MoreDining room lighting !!!
Comments (2)Two matching mini-chandeliers could work, but you have a vent and other holes in the ceiling and would have to work around them. If you can enclose a couple of the holes, you could place each small chandelier an equal distance from the center of the ceiling as it corresponds to the center of the table. I would suggest a large, square framed mirror over the fireplace and a large tapestry or other form of wall art on the back wall. By having two chandeliers, the wall art could be seen between them instead of being blocked by a single light fixture. There is a lot of plain space, and white-painted bead board wainscoting could break up the large, plain space and bring a different texture and color to the room. A solid-color area rug inspired by a color in the wall art or tapestry could help tie the color scheme together....See MoreLiving Room Suggestion
Comments (6)Hi Nisha, Like the way you have chosen a neutral colour palette keeping in mind the size of your Living room. Would like to share a simple home styling tip: Always slip your carpet below the 2 front legs of the furniture around it. This helps to pull the room together. Your wall can be treated in multiple ways: It's a nice idea of having a floating shelf. This can also be combined with a collage of frames, small wall art, Some Letters, Arrows, etc. around it to fill the wall as seen below: Regarding the painting idea: Choose the subject as an abstract/geometrical, since this would match the style of your living room. And always hang the painting with its base at just 6-8" from the sofa backrest. (keeping them at an eye level). A) You can opt for a huge landscape framed painting, that would cover the wall. OR B) Have 2 similar vertical frames, hung side by side. Can also add a focus light above to highlight these paintings. You can highlight it with a wallpaper / textured paint finish (only if it is continuous wall) in the family of neutral shades and geometric patterns. Also can have a huge wall art or a figurine hung on the wall. These are easily available online. Colour Ur Blank Spaces is an online interior design service. Comments (3)Hello there, Since you have already done the decor in contemporary finish, you could add little points of interest to complement the decor. Few tweaks for the bedroom: 1. Warm tinted etched mirror on wardrobe for both functionality and aesthetics. 2. Geometric print wallpaper or wall art for headboard wall. 3. Color sparsely some patterns on the white 3D wall panels. Like in yellows/greens. 4. Illuminate existing shelves with spot lights preferably in warm white 5. A mini area rug by the bed. 6. Try to add sheer curtains in shades of white without textures. A few tweaks for the living cum dining : 1. Add dining table decor(planter/statement salt and pepper shakers) and separate space for keeping bottles and stuffs. 2. Add a statement art of calm scenes on the wall opposite to dining table. 3. Remove the red and yellow roses( so artificial! ) and traditional vases on side table. Instead, replace them with white abstract ceramic vases and a small table lamp. 4. Try to conceal the fridge by installing a jaali wall partition between the door and fridge. 5. Illuminate the basin and mirror with two wall sconces on each side or one vanity light over the mirror. Note : Lighting scheme should be done to ensure uniformity in lux levels. Using warm white and cool white at the same places/ areas often overpowers the latter and results in deviation from human comfort thresholds and an illusion of dimly lit space even if overall power consumption is high. Always segregate cool whites for task lighting and warm whites for accent lighting. Regards, Aurum Ideas and Spaces Bhubaneswar....See MoreDarzy
