    It's very pretty! I wouldn't worry about tiring of it, most of us develop "situational blindness" and wouldn't even notice it after awhile.

    No, simply because I believe one needs an actual rug on which to wipe the shoes. Plus, an area rug is a great way to spark up a small space.

    Pretty, but the point of a rug there is to have a place to wipe your shoes. Seems like this would have to constantly be washed.

    As for not having a rug, like Mark suggested--placing a rug just outside the door is perfectly fine. :))
