What seems off to me is the color of the wall.

I love the furniture and carpet. Not sure I like the print....seems to modern for the organic feeling you want.

I suggest that you remove the sconces and add shelves or some color and interest. The whole wall is blah. Pillows will help with added color. I don' see a problem with the wall color.

I would put a large clock over the fireplace and coordinating art on either side of the fireplace. I would add pillows to the couch and chairs- mix patterns and colors (pulling colors from the art).

All you need now is some sofening of all the angles. Perhaps a Belgian linen drapery, in a loose weave, somewhat sheer, natural color. Very organic.

Some throw pillows, in colors picked from the art would brighten it up. Mix in some heavy textured, some silk. The different textures and fabric will provide visual interest.

A couple of these lumbar pillows would be nice in the chairs.

I think the room is very nice and I like your idea of adding some color in cushions. What I would suggest is adding square art below the sconces and then a wonderful round mirror for above the fireplace (this will break up all of the rectangles in the space too). I also think you could use more lighting. How about an organic floor lamp by the sofa and a pretty lamp on the table between the two accent chairs?

Little crude, but the idea is there.

How about adding a throw blanket in the color of the art or the wall. Perhaps the 'Mustard' as below would work (from the http://mohairsandmore.com/mohair-throws-in-40-designer-hues selection.

If you add lamp with color I would not use any pillows on chairs.

Change the sconces. They don't fit the look. And the art over the fireplace could be better--a piece with movement and a bit moodier.

For your transitional/organic desire, I'd keep the lamps neutral and textural. For you desire to add a little color, I think just repeating the orange/yellow you want with a hint of color (repeating three times in the space) is sufficient. In the art, maybe orangeish candlesticks for the coffee table and a couple of toss pillows on the sofa. Keep it simple, and elegant/pretty.

I agree with a round mirror above fireplace. Also consider under sconces a ladder with some throw blankets and under other sconce a tall plant like a fig tree. Will add some texture to room. Pillows in sofa and chairs would make it cozier and some candles and baskets will too. Side tables with lamps or one table with a tall lamp will help complete room.

Not a fan of all the orange and yellow. I think it emphasises the orange on the wood floors which it then is too much of a good thing. I think a soft blue grey colour would look good. Less colour more texture.

Looks great so far. I'd keep the sconces but add a shelf under each one.

I feel the wall color is not working to your advantage. It's showing up gold and muddy yellow. It clashes with your carpet and makes the room feel cold. Try a warmer shade and definitely add some side panels to soften your windows. You have a great room here, just needs a little change with color.

I like the room but it looks a bit empty.

Possibly some contemporary low interesting cabinet on either side of the fireplace some organic baskets or metal vessels of some sort on top of the cabinets. It will fill in the bareness between cabinet and sconces.

Roll down textured shades at the windows would add a nice fill in touch and add privacy and block light. Or simple linen floor to ceiling curtains on rods at ceiling height.

Here are three rooms with free standing cabinets and long curtains at the windows. You might like these ideas for not.

Art work could be under the scones with lamp for ambient lighting

Again simeple cabinets and surprise, a TV stand too.

This is a lovely idea too with the twigs; could change seasonally. I like the benches for warmth and texture and softness and the chandelier adds a dramatic touch.

Agree some drapes would be nice. Wall colour on the first photo I think would work well. Second photo has some of the same furniture as you have with some ideas for accessories.

Thanks so much. I am getting so many ideas here. Does anyone feel that the coffee table needs more of a presence? I like the clean lines of the table, but feel that it should be a little bolder given that its sort of the focal point. Since it just arrived yesterday, I still have time to return/exchange it.
