7 years agoI think pale gold textured wallpaper would look great, it would work well with your cushions and furniture: http://www.next.co.uk/g722022s2#361362 and work with the oriental feel.

Comments (7)I wish you all the best for your renovation. One of the most positive thing about the house is space looks convenient. To start of with the designing, 1. first let us start with a creating a focal point, now that the sofa Color is Blue, let us try creating a palette (photo attached) starting with blue, so we can paint white Color on the walls. 2. let us put on two mirrors on both sides of adjacent walls of the curtain which makes it look spacious and reflects light. It gives a cool effect. Even when the curtains are covered. 3. U many use a rug to match the Color of sofa and white walls. Make sure the rug is either beige or a combination of blue, white and grey hues. So that it complements everything well. 4. U may paint the wall behind the TV grey or give it a wooden panelling effect with wallpaper or tiles. That makes a focal point. 5. Comments (6)Also please replace the heavy maroon drapes with a lighter treatment. Maroon against parrot green is a really bad combination for interiors. Now that I am looking at it on my system, I confirmed that you also seem to have one pink wall.. If you are partial to strong colours, paint one wall a medium cobalt or jade green if you must, but leave the rest of the room off-white. However, I get the feeling from the photograph that there isn't enough natural light in the room. so it may be preferable to go with mushroom or sand on one wall and leave the rest of the walls off-white. And by that I mean a plain base white with just a touch of ochre stainer or turkey umber which still makes it look white, but warmer....See More

7 years agoHello Latai, I think you could definitely opt for some colour on the far wall.. This would accentuate the curtains and the feel of walking through into another more intimate room than that of the dining area.. What I would say is that you do need to look at some re-configuration.. You have a very light sofa and all the dark furniture is over to one side... I am not detecting a specific culture feel but nonetheless can be a very nice room with a little rework... So take a look at see how you can integrate them a little more, so they function but also sit cohesively as a relaxing living space.
You could try to move the back sofa against the wall further along. Perhaps have one of those display cases at one side in the corner behind the sofa.. Put the plant on the little table and maybe have that at one end of the other sofa? What about having a mirror hanging on the back wall to throw some light back into the room... Where that little grouping of pictures are... They are a little small for that wall... Try placing them somewhere else perhaps...
It's difficult to see from the angle of the photo's but do you have a coffee table or a low ottoman between the two sofas? If not why not move the low table you have (with the matt and two ashtrays?) That could sit between the sofa... Then the other cabinet can be moved away slightly and then the table with the Television? has a bit of room... Thus all the dark pieces are well integrated into the room and not all grouped together..
Colours that would work well with the wooden dining area, are Terracotta's and Rust colours to compliment the dining table and chairs... Accent that colour with some cushions to add to what you have on the sofa's I'd have a plain linen table runner (nice one's at John Lewis) They are quite long and hang a little over the ends...
With the cushions..don't put them all the way round the sofa, but have 1 or 2 together and a throw or two could be nice as well to layer the colours... I like the floor colour and that can work as it is.. I move things round all the time, and I'm always amazed at how you can transform something just by putting it somewhere else.. Lastly... I don't see any table lamps.. Perhaps 1 on one of the little tables with the flowers... : ))

7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoHello Latei, Well I think you could have a couple of mirrors on that wall (see image attached of a plain Venetian design with a little gold... I think you could put your family photos on the other wall where you have your calendar or in standing frames, is another idea.. With the mirror you could hang 2 side by side either portrait like this is shown or landscape the other way.. I think this design could be perfect as it is stylish and elegant.. It has a beaded edge in a more subtle gold.. It's about 127cm in height and 1m wide.. I would hang these at a height that is about 10/20 cm higher than the sofa at least.. So it looks in proportion to the ceiling height too.. For the wall clock I would choose something on a traditional feel as I personally prefer something like this but of course it's up to you. Attached here is one with a wooden surround that accents the dining table... : ))
