thanks for clarifying Carol, what would you do with a maids kitchen? Like all the patios though. It looks almost like it is a condo or rooftop abode. If that is really a lift. that would be a strange place for a loft, no? i wonder what country? we do realize that op hasn't been here since saturday?

Puja-prayer ( worship) room in Hinduism.

I would change the kitchen door to open right beside the puja room doors, closing off the dining room and making it a private sitting room for that master bedroom. Use the area "behind the foyer" as an open concept dining room/living room. How will you use the drawing room vs. the living room? I assume the drawing room is more of a media room.

It looks like there might be a fireplace there. I'd put a couple of comfy chairs and a table for reading. Then the large wall at the top could have an entry table or more substantial furniture (like a tall hutch or book cases or whatever). Pretty flexible space.

i have a feeling there is a distinct reason for the maid kitchen. thanks celerygirl for the def on a puja room. I don't think we should mess with that either. I like the drawing room. it is contained and allows your company to see exactly what you want them to see. If we are allowed to rearrange rooms, I would move the LR up toward the foyer, then use the current spot as the sitting room or library. I also do not like where the public bathroom is (too many spy novels I guess) I would rather it be closer to the public rooms and not you have to go past both bedrooms to get there. Or maybe, since they are both like master bedrooms have the c and the m open on your new sittingroom/libary? but if you move the living room up, everyone wont be walking through your dining room.

Thanks for all your suggestions so far. Just to give the context it is located in Bangalore(India). It is a Ground + 3 storied building. This is the first floor plan. Planning to convert the extended living room as a study cum lounge space with greenery.

As celerygirl pointed out drawing room is a formal space for entertaining guests. Maid kitchen is an extension of the main kitchen. It is used for storage and for less frequently used appliances.

We are still open for ideas to use center space. Please continue to share your suggestions.
