Since the lot you describe is smaller than my open living area, I would suggest looking at some of the "shotgun" house plans around New Orleans,LA. I think you can build up and back and get an interesting home with a loft for space. It can be done, A porch with an entry to a narrow hall at the back might work best for you. Will you plan a courtyard (closed)? or what? What part of the country are you in? What are your local codes?

I agree with divadeva. More lights. If you can add pot lights do it. If they're already there add task lighting and up the wattage on the bulbs on the pot lights (replace with LED and you can make them brighter because the wattage on LED is lower for brighter light). If you have all of that add decorative lighting. If ventilation is an issue find a way to move the air around or add air filtration. Maybe the HVAC is deficient. Maybe you can add a HEPA filter instead of the standard one that comes with the unit. Call an HVAC specialist to see if there is a way to boost air flow in the room.

For your office , you can go for the right side second entry from the main entrance of your house. This way you can make a full glass, sound proof, no disturbance and a comfortable in house office . you can have one more entry from inside for the easy accessibility for the personal use. In your dining area,there's a door leading to the balcony. Make it a 3 track glass door for the good daylight and a natural view from your hall also. In the kitchen, make your washing area of the size 10'8"x 4' . This way you get two perfect rectangle for a perfect planning for the kitchen as well as the washing area for utensils and washing machine.

Hello Vineetha, God is everywhere ! If you are going to use the room as a study room then you may very well keep the Pooja room in the same room. Its will be your sacred corner and hope it will bring peace, prosperity and knowledge to the family. That room is already very small in fact at 3200*2300 it is smaller than your kitchen ?Trimming a section from the smallest room to create Pooja room defies our understanding.
